Thumbs up Hudson Valley Auction

The Hudson Auction is on May 10th this year. As usual, I will be helping out. Anyone else attending?

I'll take a couple of loads up when they start accepting consignments -- which is the week before the sale. It's always a great sale--completely run by volunteers for the benefit of the Hudson Valley Old Time Power Association. They had three auctioneers selling simultaneously, last year, and it was still an all day sale. I haven't missed a sale in almost 30 years -- always interesting stuff and great food.

I'll take pictures and post them when I take my loads to the sale.

Making plans to be there now as a seller again. I retired but now I realize I would have to live to be 154 years old to do all my projects. Something has to go. Starting with an inverted water pump and IHC 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 LA, early with no speed lever and different mag. Right now planning on a short bed pick up load. You know how that goes. I will try to keep it from morphing into 3 trailer loads !!

I am hoping to get there this year, I missed last year. I was going to bring my camper this year, come in on Friday and leave on Sunday. However a family commitment just came up for Saturday night so I will most likely be there until 3pm. See you there.

Don't forget about the 3 auctioneers. Because of that the auction ended around 6 PM last year. Bring an extra friend to keep up. A glitch slowed the payout line to a crawl but I expect they will work that out. This new rule has to help.

New rules ... From a letter from them many months ago ===

"The consignor buyer deduction will STOP. Consignors must pay for any purchases the day of the auction using cash, check or credit card. A check for the amount of their sale items will be sent to them post-auction. This is necessary for several reasons and will allow for faster real time transactions and payments. By letting consignors know this now, it gives sufficient time to, plan for next year's auction".

Wow time is short. Need to load up the junk ....oops I mean valuable antiques.

Well it did morph into a truck and trailer load on my first retirement year, Need to thin the herd. Leave today 5/5 with a goal to unload 8 AM Tuesday. About a 6 hour trip total. Stay over at sons tonight in Glens Falls.

I am betting even a Tuesday morn unload puts us in the last 5 or 6 rows.

Highlights ... Pennsylvania Meteor, complete, free original engine, needs restoration. Only made 2 yrs. Cub C 102 runs, drives, mows. Maytags == 82 restored. 92 early, complete hot. Ferro marine engine complete w/clutch, free, basement fresh. IHC LA 1-1/2 --2- 1/2 early, no speed lever, free. Taylor vacuum parts engine, block, crank, wheels, head.
