Default Can I brush paint Centauri (acryl. enamel)?

Does anyone know if I can brush paint DuPont Centauri acrylic enamel with any success? If so, what sort of thinner/reducer or whatever should be added? Thanks.

It is difficult, but can be done, you have to work fast, neat, and cannot go over freshly painted areas until dry. Also, and most important - YOU MUST wear protective breathing equipment - mask - as the fumes cause brain damage if inhailed for extensive periods. I would not advise painting inside the home or closed garage! Outside - open air exposures only! Also, there are temperature - humidity considerations as well.

I agree !!, also use less reducer and a better brush, not the cheap $1.00 chip brushes , get a good oil paint brush

I have brushed on Centauri and also Ful-thane which is another DuPont paint sold under the company name Nason. If you blast the old iron clean much is pitted and porous. It is hard to get the amount of paint on necessary to fill the voids without using filler of some type. With a brush you can get decent results. Another thing you cando if after all parts are assembled you can spray a coat over the brushed on to get a better finish. Like other have said, be careful of the fumes and watch overspray on everything else in the shop.
