Talking Bangor, Pa.-Jacktown SNO SHOW and

other show dates are now up on their WEB site http://jacktown.com . Anxiously waiting for the SNO SHOW January 21, 2006 and hope the weather is accomidating so I can get some of that "HOBO STEW" . I probably will take a few models to show.

OLDIHC @ http://www.geocities.com/oldengineon...s/engines.html

"MERRY CHRISTMAS" and a "SAFE HAPPY NEWYEAR" to all

My favorite engine, a 10HP Mogul Tank Cooled Portable .

If we can work out the logistics, we are going to try to come up from Virginia
and include the show with an ice fishing expedition that weekend. Hope to see you there!

I've thought about going up there for a few years now. I think Dad and I will drive up this time. I might even bring a small engine.

it would be nice if they would keep the engine display section just for engines . ive been there 3 yrs ago ago, arrived at 9 am with a large engine on my truck,,, no place to park in the engine section.. there were to many cars parked there that were kitchen workers. why dont they park next to the kitchen, keep the engine section for engines... next thing you know. its going to be the no show, like kinzers., hate to see folks drive 3 hours and have no place to set up in the engine section..

Bob: Rumor has it that "road kill" gets into the stew from time to time . I guess that's why it tastes so good . I was there last year, and parking was just a bit dis-organized between folks with a display and those that didn't have a display, and I had to squeeze in a spot. Everyone wants to be near the "BIG" bond fire . I think visitor parking and the display parking area should be separated, but that takes someone to do it .

Cant wait for the show! Get to pick up some "NEW" toys and maybe have some fun trying them out if I can figure out how to use them.

If anybody has any Massey Harris 150lb wheel weights for sale, and youre going or know someone whose going, I could use a set or 2. I will have cash! Just let me know.
Thanks, and see you in the SNOW!

No dumplings or ice cream at this show. Just Hobo Stew and if you are early enough, donuts in the building. And maybe coffee??
Dumplings are only at the Oct. show.

When this show started, it was to give the members who work the July and Oct. shows a chance to put their engine on the back of a pickup and listen to it run for a change. No work in January. Stand around, shoot the breeze, and listen to the bark of the engines. To the exhibitors who come to the other shows we say thanks, come on out with or without an engine and have some free Hobo Stew.
The first show had a couple of engines and a pot of coffee. Who'da thunk there would be guys trying to sell engines and parts at 20 degrees at 8 am. The show has certainly changed since its inception, but the purpose has not. There is room for every engine that shows up. but I doubt very much that you will see designated parking areas or volunteers directing traffic.

Just remember. this is the Snow Show. Expect the worst.

Bob, our expenses to the club for last year's show topped out at over fifteen hundred dollars for the one day show. (Donations usually top out at a couple of hundred) As mentioned earlier, this show was a thank you to the workers, and therefore a free get-together. That has changed big time. We just can't afford that kind of money. To answer your real question, it's the same ol "how comes I have to pay if he doesn't? " situation. Some people don't see the difference between 1 item, and many.

It is a lot easier to be friendly if someone doesn't have their hand in your pocket.
Alan
