Default Hello... new user here

I was pointed to this place by the mother earth news site.

Do you guys mind if I post a bit of spam here? LOL.. yup.. I'm asking.

My work shop is located on a farm. I rent the place from the farmer there and pay for rent by building or fixing things for them every now and then.

Anyhow, I'm in Michigan and its freaking cold here.. I got sick of paying $300 heating bills so I figured out a way to burn vegetable oil from my local restaurant for heating. This is not your normal pot burning stove but a full blown atomizing oil burning heater I built from other peoples garbage. Literally.

Can I post a link? I thought I would ask to avoid anyone getting pissed off at a newbie. I don't like the smell of spam anymore than anyone else does.

Contact Harry, and tell him you want to be a sponser/advertiser. For a modest fee, you can post an ad here on the site. You cannot post ads on the forums, and spamming is prohibited.

I don't think there would be any objection if you just wanted to describe how you made your furnace and add a couple of pictures. After all, this site is about sharing useful information. If you refrain from any kind of sales pitch, I for one, would like to see your invention.

nickdorio:

Clcik on the main header for one of the forums, in the case of the one you're on here, it would be "Machine Shop and Tool Talk" in the left hand column instead of clicking on the individual posts in the right hand column.

Near the top of the page, just above the list of threads in each forum, there is a button to click on for a "New Thread"
