Default Anderson Gin Engine

The Rusk County Historical Commission is looking for info on this engine. It is in an old cotton gin they moved from
Mt. Enterprise, TX. It is a two cylinder, two cycle, oil engine. They need help to get it running so they can gin a bale of cotton at next years show. If anyone has any information about this type of engine please send it to me.

Thanks,
Dwayne Fuller

I can't help you in starting the engine myself but it looks like an Anderson engine. Field Days of the Past show has a 35hp single cylinder model that is owned and operated by a gentleman named John Bickerstaff. I'll see if he can't contact you or send me a private messge and I'll forward along your contact information. There was a thread on this fourm about the Anderson 3-4 years ago. There might be some information about running th engine there. I know it's a semi-diesel which requires a torch on the head to get it running but not any more than that, sorry.

In looking at photo #1006 there should be a name plate located on the cast housing between the chain sprocket and the injector pumps(right side of the engine). You can see a flat area cast into the housing. Is there a name plate?

Oops, I didn't read the title of your post!: Again, send me a contact number and I'll get in touch with the guy who runs the Anderson at the show here in VA.

It has been a year since I posted this and nothing much has changed with the project. I went to Henderson today and helped JR Smith remove the air start valve and fuel injection pump. We freed up the gov. and maybe figured out how it works. I hope to have a good news update before Christmas.

If anyone has any info on starting and running this beast it would be helpful.

Maybe when JR has had a chance to get some sleep he'll figure it out.
