Default Sandow 1 3/4 hp Paint

Hi Guys,

I just recently purchased a 1 3/4 hp Sandow horizontal hopper gas engine and I would like to restore this one to near original if possible.

I cleaned off the grease on the bottom side and found a redish color for the base and it appears that the fly wheels may have been of a different color.

Cannot make out if there were any decals or pin stripping etc.

Any help, ideas, pictures or paint codes would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Todd

Todd,
It is my understanding that the early Sandow engines were red and the later ones were the blue. But I can't be sure of the pinstriping or possible other color on the flywheels. If you are interested I might be able to get you in touch with someone that might know of the true colors.

I am curious on what the correct color would be? I just purchased a 1913 3.5 hp sandow and it has been repainted and have not found any remnants of the original paint? I would like to paint it as close to original as well?
Thanks
Jerame
