Default Onan 2.5 LK opinion

Ok, i got a trifuel, 2.5lk a couple weeks ago, it was half buried under ground sitting next to an old dodge RV. Long story short, i pulled it out of the ground with my truck. Brought it home, took it appart, piston had ant nest on top of it, and was packed full of dirt, so you can imagine what it looked like. I got everything sandblasted, painted, and had a +.020 piston installed, and head very slightly machined down to increase compression for natural gas use. Question is, how should i set my timing for max power/efficiancy. Im going to do electronic ignition. The timing is supposed to be set at 19 btc, sould i retard or advance? Id like to set at 21btc, what do you guys thing. I can change it to anything, just that 21btc would be the easyest.

I would say on this. Just try and see what works the best. The LK was a very good unit.

I believe the N/G fueled 5.0CCK's call for 21 degrees BTC. Since the 2.5LK is half of a 5.0CCK, it should be fine. There was a 2.5LK around Bastrop for $50.00 that did not look too bad on Craigslist. It did not stay on Craigslist too long though.

I have a 1968 2.5 LK-1R that I use for back up. I run regular gas & it comes in handy when I lose power.

Adjust the timing to get the highest intake manifold vacuum.
