There is a relatively new listing in the Callendar at this site that says it will be Oct. 23. That is the same date I was told at the Lindsay show in September. I plan on being there with my Evans if all goes well.

Well, on Tuesday it looked like the weather was going to be great. IT WAS NOT. It came a flood then it rained some more. There was several storm warnings issued after I left around 2:30. At least I got a new engine to add to my collection and took a few photos.

I'm glad you brought the rain home with you, Dwayne. We've really been needing it. Sorry about the show, though.

It was my Ford you pulled out Todd. Yeah it was a bit heavy but it got me out of the mudhole, thanks. Took a buck fifty to clean the truck so I could see out the window again, then I felt so bad I spent a buck fifty to clean the wash bay. The mud was all the way to the ceiling in the wash bay. The rain was so heavy that by the time I got to Glen Rose everything was nice and clean again. The Evans looks like it is ready for another show. Did the guy with the 25 HP Fairbanks Morse get out ok? He had a pretty good load too.

I left before the 25 y was out. I hope he got out okay. That was the worst drive home I have had in many years. I saw five wrecks on I-20 between Benbrook and Dallas. It was a white knuckle drive all the way home.

WOW!

For once spending time with the in-laws might have the right decision.

Dave for the first four hours or so we had a really nice engine show going. There was some engines I had not seen before there. The power house had all three of their big Fairbanks Morse engines running and it was dry in there. There was also kind of a marathon run to see which engines ran the longest in that heavy rain. I was thinking my Evans would continue running, but the belt broke on the governor, and the water pump belt got so wet it started slipping. I am not sure why it quit but was thinking maybe the hot tube got too cool from all the rain? It was the first to die. There was a FM 239 there that just kept on running and a 25 HP Fairbanks Morse Y that kept going. A Stickney ran all the way through the rain too. Looking back at it I think the only thing I would have changed is maybe attacking that mud hole a little differently! You missed a good show despite the rain.

Is the show a day show or do folks camp overnight? The venue looked really nice from the pictures, seriously.

There are a few that camp overnight but not very many. This is a really nice place for a show, it is right on Lake Granbury.

Can anyone get me in touch with the guy with the 25 HP FM Y? I have one I am working on, and I need injector details...

Thanks

James
