Default 1 1/2 HP Mc Deering rod brg.

I have a 1 1/2 IHC M. Yr.1927. I need to know if the lube grooves on the connecting rod insert goes on the rod side or the cap side? I know that one of you out there has this answer. A big thanks ahead of time, Chuck

Chuck it sounded a little strange to me, I just took a look in the shed for some inserts and saw what I expected, both inserts have oil grooves. In case you have one whitout grooves, I would place the one with the grooves in the cap, cause that's the lowest point and the oil always will sit there.

You are correct John. These bearings were made in a mold 1/2 at a time-or several and each has the part # and the grooves. There are a couple of different designs with the grooves and new bearings from H&M don't have the part# and a com-pletely different groove-but what the heck-they do the job. Ed
