Progress is being made in Allan's shop on the Big 4 three speed transmission. Posting the updates.

Today we drove to SE Minnesota to pick up our radiator from the hand lettering/pinstripe shop. It was our WOW day! As you are aware we started fixing five radiators at Allan's on New Years Day. The process was tedious, challenging, discouraging and loooong! However, this day made it all worth it. We are very happy!!!

Last weekend the Big 4 radiator and gas tank were delivered to the farm in SD. It certainly is nice to have them sitting in place on the chassis!

We have finally had a break in the frequent rains here in MN to allow painting the radiator hoops outside. When time allows over the next few days I will take them to the pinstriper to be finished.

I haven't posted for a bit. Several months ago the hand striper finished the radiator hold down hoops. This is period correct based on an original photo from one of the Big 4 books. This past week we poured the differential bearing caps for the Big 4. We had an original differential carrier but had to pour and machine the caps. The differential is close to being able to be lifted into position. You all may remember that several years ago, Brian had "Arnold the Antelope" in the shop as a supervisor. Now its "Cactus" the dog!

I had Craig help me out with the short video clip! Thanks! A special thanks to Allan and Harriet Severson and Roger Byrne who worked hard and got our Big 4 engine running in their shop on the test stand! Very rewarding after the years of hunting parts!

Forward motion. Engine is in place, differential carrier is now hanging off the frame, last wheel is painted and the lower operator platform are now painted.

Looking sharp! Won't be long before it's as spiffy as Allan's?
