For tungsten steel horseshoe style or Wico style magnets your design should work. For alnico magnets, it will be too small.

Ok I found a place to get my wire from. The first set of bobbins I didn't like so I made another. I bought a 2 inch shipping tube and used a brake cylinder hone to get the id right

Got coils back and put it all together and low and behold, no electricutions or nothing. Seems to work just fine.
