Thumbs up My belated Birthday present to myself

Well, tomorrow my dad and I are flying out to Bozeman to pick up the 1918 IHC Titan that I bought. We are going to make a little side trip and go snowmobiling in Yellowstone after picking it up. I'm very excited about this trip! :-D

This Titan comes with the original owner's manual, 2 extra Madison Kipp pistons, extra lubricator and it still has all 4 hubcaps! The sheet metal looks great, just some holes in the bottom of the water tank. Nothing I can't fix. I think this is going to be an exciting project. I am going to leave it like it is, but get it running. ;-) I like how glossy the rust looks. This is going to be the restoration/return trip thread on it.

That's a nice Titan. Not many left to be found like that. Have a fun trip and keep us posted on your progress.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip. That looks well worth the effort! A fine looking tractor. I was at a place a couple of days back and saw a very nice Titan that hasn't been out of the shed for years. They would be a nice tractor to own!

Nice find on the tractor and good luck with the side trip snowmobiling. Did that trip in Feb of 1997. Dang near died from no food and being diagnosed with diabetes the previous summer. Will NEVER get caught like that again. That birthday present (tractor) would sure be a good memory.

Very exciting find!
Locating an original early survivor like this is exactly where this hobby has been heading for the last few years...Even the high grade enamal camp has begun to take notice of how nice it is to see a complete well kept early tractor in it's working clothes....the older they are the better they look this way...paint was never any good on teens and 20s machines anyway.
You are getting the chance to live a dream that so many old iron hounds have!
Discovering a treasure like this, organizing a memorable road trip to recover it and finally getting it home to begin revival of a wonderful old artifact...Wow...this really has become the pinicle of collecting, the culminating point of Lugs & Cleats. I sincerely hope that you are documenting this WHOLE experience from start to finish!
We are dying here Nate....keep us posted.
Tony

I'll get some pictures of it today before it is loaded. Here's one my dad took of me yesterday.

It is missing only one part, the overflow bowl and mixer valve. I have a plan to make my one unless I can find one.

So appearently a Titan will fit in the back of a 14' uhaul with the seat spring and drawbar moved. I have more pictures of loading it Ill post up later.

We built some boxing for it and is locked in solid. We put plywood on the floor. The actual truck bed length is short of 12'. There is storage over the cab. That's why it is not 14' bed.

Hey guys, I'm throwing this out there now. I'm in need of a few parts. I'm missing the top half of two grease cups, one looks to be 1/8" pipe and the other is 1/4" pipe. I also need the overflow bowl on the carb. Your help is greatly appreciated!

What a lovely original Titan! You will enjoy ownership more than you can imagine - Titans are great machines; with a characteristic even exhaust beat and real "antique" appearance. Hopefully, you'll find any parts you need and soon have it running.
