Darren
Welcome to the stak.
Thanks for that pic when it was just a dream( or night mare)at that time. I do remember talking to some fellows from England at the two cylinder show at Springfield but it seems it was in 2012? Could that have seen you?
Talking with Wendel just yesterday he is shooting for the late spring for painting. Now comes the decision on paint colors. Any feedback on colors? I have been thinking mostly gray. Wendel seems a little cool to that. Dan

Dan,
Yes it was me who you spoke to.
I mentioned I was restoring my D at the time and you showed me the bathtub: and told me all about it.
I think you are right on colour, the 1919 version looks to be a light shade in the pictures?
It is certainly much lighter than Waterloo Green?

Darren

Just a thought Dan, Being that is was an experimental maybe it was just primed. When developing a piece of equipment one knows there are likely going to be modifications done to it, and experiments tried. It would be kind of handy not to mess with any fancy paint job. Or are there indications that they did have it out it the public

We have got all the new parts on the front axle. We got the bearing races replaced in the transmission that was making a racket. Found the leak at the belt pulley. Working on the fuel tank. It should be done ready to show before too long. Wendell

Just a thought but would there be any chance of it being able to come out to Austin MB, for the John Deere expo?

Cody
that is a bit of a drive but I will need a date and a location to consider
It.
Really want to thank Good friend Earl Scott for spending the day with us. Earl is the guy that is the first owner of the bathtub tractor as he purchased the main case from the guys that dug it up. He is the guy that is driving on video Brad posted.
Had a great time at Wendel 's crank up yesterday. Never thought that I would be standing beside Wendel singing,Not sure who sings the worst -glad everyone else helped sing happy 100th birthday to the bathtub tractor and the 30-60 titan (what an amazing tractor). Thanks to Wendel and his amazing crew. Just a few more small items to finish up and then to the paint shop. My wife says yea.

I often wondered what was the reason John Deere put the steering wheel on the left on the early Ds then after a few years put it on the right side, yet on the experimental tractor it is on the right side.

Cody
The date of your show does conflict with a earlier comitment so it will not work at this time. I would be interested in coming there ,maybe a later show if possible.

Wayne seems like they could not decide what side to put the steering wheel on,seems like a simple decision to me.

Got a couple pics from Wendel today. Sure wish it went together as fast as it came back apart. Going to be some painting soon.

We got the Waterloo Boy EXP looking pretty now. I didn't want to put any partly Painted pictures on here. I am still tinkering a little on it but we are getting closer. Will put a video of it doing the runway walk below. This girl has been a challenge but it has been fun also. I am thankful I have had the chance to bring this piece back to life! Thanks to Dan and all my people who has helped make it possible! Wendell

Wendel I should not tell on Andrew but he said that you seen to get a project done if you are on a deadline. I don't like to rush a craftsman but this really came out as good as I could have hoped for.
After Earl Scott (the original owner)seen pics of the finished tractor his granddaughter told me he said it turned out "ok" ,really Earl said ok -that tells me it's pretty DARNED GOOD.
I want to thank all that helped with this tractor for without you all it would not have been possible , I will not name everyone (for fear I mite miss someone) but I will like to thank each in person somewhere along the way. And most of all my wife Sandy and family and friends that gave me encouragement to keep going.
Headed to Carlinville IL on Thur 6-15 for there land of Lincon show that runs thru Sunday 6-19. Really excited to go to the first show after getting all the "lipstick" on it. This is an all brands show. But am a little afraid I might scratch it now. I invite all stackers to come on out and visit some and bring the young ones to get them interested in old iron. Dan

Been one of my favorite threads to follow the last couple years! The history behind the tractor and the ingenuity it took to recreate it are extraordinary! Can't wait to see it at in person at an upcoming show! Also just want to says thanks to both Dan and Wendell for documenting this process with all of us on the Stak!
