More pictures would be helpful. There is a wealth of information on this site. look up pictures that have any model A Briggs related topics in them. A model A engine does not have a removable PTO cover. A Briggs model B engine has a removable PTO cover.

It's a briggs model a it has 6 head bolts the model b has 7

This was/is a crappy for sale ad. Only one pic available. You can have it for $100! Thank you for the 6 versus 7 head bolt info, I'm VERY new to the old engine hobby.

Absolutely a model A Briggs. It is not worth anywhere near $100, more like $10-20 in that shape.

I agree with K-Tron.
While it does look like the blower housing is on the ground behind it with a brass tag, and it does look like there is a carb. It is rope start, so lower desirability.
Pass on it at that price. I would expect a runner for $100.
