How about a Dairy Maid, at least I seen a rod that oiled the rod bearing and pin like that in some pictures recently somewhere

Rich,
Engine in Posts #8,15 & 20 not a Dairy Maid. This photo of flywheel about the last one of unique features.

Doug, you have me stumped! I hope someone out there will still get it right.

Don Selmer has other close-ups showing portions of mystery engines - here is another submission from him...

Anyone?

Doug
Years ago I had the exact same engine in the same condition !!! We never confirmed the manufacture but thought is was a T&M made in Wisconsin. I believe I sold the engine at the Portland Show 10-15 yrs ago. Jerry Johnson

Jerry,
Not a T&M. Engine in posts #8, 15, 20 & 22 is a Standard Gas Engine from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Wendel says on Page 477 that they were only made in 1 1/2 hp size. Mine has 4 1/4" bore & 5 1/2" and I believe it's a 2 1/2 hp. No tag or tag holes. The unique features are the valve cages with clamp arrangement in post #8 photo; the walking beam to operate exhaust valve in photo #15; the slotted connecting rod for oiling both ends; and the 'dished' flywheel shown in photo #22(only other engine with similar flywheel that I know of is a 3 hp CH&E also made in Milwaukee).

More photos of mine & others in these two threads:

Brian/Jonathan, I see what looks like a cam gear on a Model engine and possibly a hockey puck for a slide valve Otto.
