Photo Rushville Indiana Show Pics 34 in all Worth a look!

These are pictures from TODAY 8-2-08 at the Rushville Indiana show grounds. I just wanted to compliment that i never,.. we've never been to the old show grounds but the new grounds are BEAUTIFUL. In all general upkeep was exellent. You couldnt ask more from such a nice day. A place like that at the end of the day makes me happy as a lark For those who havnt visited, you aught too! It's worth it. Beautiful rolling hills like, clean grounds, very well planned out show. Someone had there hat on straight! Food was great too! ribeye of which i had one (couldnt resist) Fish (as usual) sausage, ect. ect. i cant begin to name it all but its all you'd ever ask for! OH YEA, and ice cream, had to have some of that. The day started off quiet, overcast and slow. We got there at 7:30 but by 12:00 noon the place was a BIG "boom town" It really grew as the day progressed. Im tellin ya now folks if ya aint never been there then it's worth a look! For those that are close or fairly close to rushville, check it out tomorrow! 8-3-08 It's the last day ti'll next year but i bet they'll be a little crowd going. Moving on to pictures i think you'll all enjoy BOTH gas and steam wemen and men. This is 34 of the total 44 pictures that i got but these were more (get to the point) pictures so i chose these to share with you all. In one of those pics i took a picture of 2 driving an old Peerless, i dont know who they are but they seemed to pose like i was taking a pic for Steam engine magazine (MY complements if you 2 are on here on the stak cuz that was a perfect stance FOR a steam magazine) That was great in my thoughts. Great old engine too! still in it's work clothes, and i think for some certain engines, it's best to leave them EXACTLY as so. As you'll notice i took some pictures in an old time western look becouse i thought it fit the picture of the engine very nicley and one i took of a western look AND whats known today as the color picture so you know what the details were like. I just love that Peerless though. Congrats from me to you, whom ever owns it. It's beautiful. Getting down to the last pictures, one picture is ME standing next to the big brute of a Rumley. That thing was bigger then the Titan or Mogul! I think there all some beautys but this was BIG. Standing next to the rear wheel, im 6 foot tall and the wheel was 2 or so foot taller then me! AGAIN, my compliments to who ever owns that machine, and lastly, just as we began to leave, i got one more shot of steam engine row. Then we left. It was great. Just an all around beautiful grounds and an awsome show. I even go out so far out on the limb (so to speak) that its even better then Portland! as far as beauty and organization goes, but alas, i still love portland. Ya knew that was coming didnt ya Well i'll shut my trap now so you guys go ahead and veiw the moments i've captured and i hope you all enjoy. After all i did post this with that exact thing in mind. Dont be a stranger! Comments welcome!

The little "dishpan" was all by it's self tucked away from all the other runners and show engines so thought i'd get a picture of "the one left behind"

The pics. are great sky I also wish you would have stopped by and chated I had the 9hp Thermoil and was showing the 55hp Muncie oil engine for Tri state. Wow what a show! cant say enough about it! This is the only show I have ever attended that had airconditioned showers/ restrooms. The parade was an hour and a half on thursday and even longer on friday and saterday. I herd nothing but good talk about the show from everyone that stopped by!

Well i thank ya craig I thought i seen ya tom but i didnt know exactly who to look for. I stood and watched ya work the scale baler for a few. Pretty neet i thought I also seen the baby steamers rolling around the grounds but wasnt able to get a good shot of those. What a great show it was though. Lord permitting, me and dad both intend to be there next year once again. Cant hardly wait portland is coming up, that'l be another Hura! This year's been great so far. Sure hope for another year like it again next year...only this time without all the flooding rain and stuff.

I agree, the show was very nicely done....With air condition too THAT i didnt get the privlage of checking out though. I was too busy walkin gettn up ta stuff I would have stopped and said hay if i knew who i was lookin for. That muncie engine is really sumthin. Every time it fires you can feel the thump. I never seen anyone actually start it before though. How do you start it? is it by the lugs or holes on that right side flywheel looking at the front of the engine? I seen something were guys at the factory would have a rod and turn the engine over by the lugs but then again, i dont know.

Hey Sky, on the 55hp Muncie The holes in the flywheel are for baring it over to just a fuzz past T.D.C. Then use the air start to get it going. Stop by at portland and I will show you.
