Default Taps and Dies

Acquired a Wiley & Russell miniature tap and die set. It has 12 sizes from 2 x 56 to 16 x 18. Located in Greenfield Mass, they were one of the first companies to manufacture taps and dies. The company is now the Greenfield Tap and die Company. Picture from 1888 catalog shows the three piece adjustable die. Trying to find the date of manufacture of mine. I also picked up this multipurpose tool. It looks like you could prune branches, punch a hole in your belt, cut tin, cut wire, crack nuts or castrate something. There is also a screwdriver and nail puller at the end of the handles. Does anyone recognize the manufacturer or its purpose? Could be a old farmers tool ALClick image for larger version

There is no identification marks on it. The attachments are made of quality hardened steel. Have searched the internet and have not found anything similar. They appear to be very old. ALClick image for larger version
