Default Generac H-Panel 0f2815 versions.

I overheard a conversation and I am now curious. I've been told there were two different versions of h-panels made. Revision a through d? then e through h? And If you have one of the older ones, and you replace it with a new one, you need extra stuff to have it talk to the engine and such.
Is this correct and is there a tech bulletin that was put out on this I could read?
Also, I thought it was the board change that made the revision, since ive seen two different boards inside the panels. However that idea went down the tube as I found a revision G board, which had the same setup as the older version ones.
