Hi I have picked one up. I don't have pics yet but it is complete and not too bad looking. It is black with some original decals still on it.

Type 60109
Model Y
Serial Number 288556

I hope to get it cleaned up and running. I would prefer to keep it original since a lot of the paint is still on it. The flywheel cover has the most paint, the kick start and actual engine don't have much paint on it. I will post some pictures after I take some.

I bought my model Y this year.
It is No. 282179.
It is currently not running. The kick starter clutch is stuck, the exhaust valve is stuck and there is no fuel tank.

Has anyone disassembled the kick starter clutch and have pictures of how it goes together?

Oh, and how is the check valve in the fuel line set up?

Thanks,
TekNik

This link to the parts list at the ASEC site should will give you a breakdown of the starter clutch.

http://www.asecc.com/data/briggs_str...PL-Model-Y.pdf

The check valve bottom piece with the screen, if it is still there, should be a press fit and has a ball or disc inside. Try soaking the lower end first in spray carb cleaner in something that the cleaner will not eat through like a pill bottle. It may free up any stuck parts. You will get a rattle if it frees up.

If you do end up taking it apart be careful to not loose the ball or disc.

I know this is a really old post but figured I'd chime in anyway. I've got a 1936 model y type 60148 that is exactly 600 away from BST's! Mine is serial number 307392.
