Default B&S Winco 2700w, Fine Tuning & Parts Source?

I fell into a '72 Winco 2700 Watt generator with I believe a 23 Cu in Briggs and Stratton engine. It is a lovely piece of equipment. And I know nothing about it.. so any and all information is welcome.
B&S Model 233481
Type 0284-01
Code 7209251

Winco 2B07PS-3t/1

I've gotten it running by cleaning the carb, and for the most part it runs very well... But I am wanting to 'super tune" a slight hunt out of the no-load idle... at present it hunts up and down just slightly. ( the governor opens the throttle blade just a touch about every 2-3 seconds) I've spent some time adjusting the needle valve, which seems to effect the fuel mixture most when under a load, or accelerating. I've played with the Idle valve and got most of the hunt out of the engine... But it is still there, and this is my first attempt at working on a small engine,

Next question: the foam air filter crumbled into a paste of green smoo, Where can I go looking for a replacement?

Last question: The generator has what looks like a 1970's auto (foot) dimmer switch just above the receptacles, what is it for & any idea where i can get an owners manual for the generator and engine?

Thanks, Jason

My guess that dimmer looking switch is for starting the engine using the generator to crank it. Some you hook up to a battery and some models you plug into 120V AC house current.

Check plate on generator for dc voltage rating, that will tell you voltage for battery for cranking. Any b&s dealer should have/get air filter element. Napa may can get it as well. Most small engines are happier when running a little rich in fuel, New filter element may help running as well.

Other cause of no load hunting is worn throttle shaft and / or other vacuum leaks...

Got any pictures? I have a 2 kW, 1959 Winpower / Briggs model 23 set. Runs at 1800 rpm, and also is electric start. Quite a nice unit.

Thanks fella's. I will try richening the mixture a bit more, and see what happens.
It is a 12 volt starting motor, as I believe it is painted on the positive starter post on the generator. I've been using a rope, as I don't want to tie up a battery, and thus I have not payed any attention to the electric start set up.
I will snap some pictures and figure out how to post them here. Yes this is also a 1800RPM unit.

The foam air cleaner element is B&S # 270093.

The 2334xx engines are 9hp.

Most generators have a slight hunt under no load. ....Seafoam additive for the fuel has helped a lot of times.

You could try sending an e-mail to: service@wincogen.com to see if they can supply an owner's manual.

Thank You Bruce! I will contact Winco tomorrow.

I have managed to tweek and tune my way to a dead smooth idle.. really happy with the results, even if I don't really know what I did.. just kept fussing with the two carb adjustments.

Now to figure out how to post pictures.
