Default B&S 124700 Model Series Charge Armature

Has anyone here rewound a B&S charge armature coil? If so, would you happen to know the wire gauge of the magnet wire needed? Thanks.

Why bother, the Briggs 590454 coil is extremely common and very cheap.

K-Tron I just thought it might be interesting diversion. I have repaired several that had a bad diode or capacitor in past years. I believe this is the first one I have run into that the coil was burned up. Over the weekend I purchased a late eighties to early nineties DR trimmer/mower for 20 bucks at an estate yard sale. Didn't take much to get it running but the battery charge armature was toast. I've ordered the part. I always try to tell the owners to first not jump start the engine or if they must be sure to disconnect the charging wire. I appreciate your comments.
