Default Detroit Diesel Knock offs

I remember in the late 70s seeing a knock off of the two cycle 71 series Detroit. I can`t remember the manufactures name or where they were made. Japan? China? They were a pair of marine engines and identified as 8V-75s They were two cycle with a blower but had a external high pressure fuel injection pump instead of unit injectors. I also remember seeing a brochure with the same model identifications as the Detroit. 3,4,6,V6,and V8-75s. I have searched the web and come up empty. Has anyone heard about or seen any of these engines? AL
