Default United Hit-n-Miss Engine Value?

Hello -
A widowed lady in Youngstown, Ohio has a United hit-n-miss engine sitting in her garage for about 12 years now. It's her late husband's engine and she wants to SELL it. It's in very nice shape and all complete and NOT stuck and comes with a 4-wheel hand cart. Gas tank & coil are not attached.
I'm trying to help her out with selling some items and she knows NOTHING about this stuff. Can someone please provide an estimated value for this engine???

I can't list pictures on this site, but I can provide pictures via email, if needed.

ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN IT, LET ME KNOW...

Here are the particulars:

Engine: United
Type: A
H.P.: 2-1/2
No.: 153583

Thanks,
Scott

Scott a few pictures would give a much better idea of value. Original paint or even bare metal is usually worth more than a repaint, because cracks and breaks and welds can lurk under glossy paint. Otherwise you can go to Nixon auctions sold prices and maybe get some ideas.
I'm guessing $800.00 with the cart.

Your welcome Buckeye,
I am not very adept at posting pictures but there are resizing tools that you can find online and somewhere on here there is a tutorial how to do it.
You need to find an eight-year-old somewhere- she'll know how!

Hard for me to see on my phone but it looks like it might have the early style igniter trip rather than the later gooseneck style trip. I think the earlier trip is prettier.
I can't see much about art but I prefer larger wheels on mine for pulling over soft ground. The name tag has pretty font. I can't see clearly enough to comment much further.

I would take a guess becuse there are no positive date records of builds definitely before 1917 , straight trip and tanks where put in base after 1915. Is your number on augermo.com the United registry on phone 225 miles from pc sooo. But list the number I will put it on for you later. NICE ENGINE price is about right if no weldscetc different prices in different areas though..

Sorry was running low on battery on phone and was running engines didnt notice you had the number posted. There is a engine somwhere 3numbers higher to. If by chance you take more I could link them to serial number next week. 21/2 straight trips are kinda not common they are a mixture of Choreboy Hiredman and 3Mule on some of the parts!! Agree on the wheels of what I can see. If you take better pics and put it on the classifieds Harry has would be a excellant place to list it. It would be good first engine for a young addict lol..

Put pics on the want ads here. If no sale, then Craigslist or Ebay.

Hi Kevin - I have it listed in the classified section on this website, but i can't upload pics in the classified section. I've tried (3) times to upload them with no luck. I can email any pictures or text them to anyone who is seriously interested....

Anyway, it's a nice engine and someone will enjoy it. $800.00....

Thanks,
Scott

I'm sorry I can't really help you with picture Scott.
I'm not very tech-savvy but I think there is some kind of restriction on this page at the pictures can only be posted once so they don't end up in different spots.
But if you took different pictures I bet you could load them

If you resize them it might work. Also email me the ones you have with out the tank on hopper to augermo.com for the United registry site, and, will put them on linked to the serial number, Harry might not like me stealing pics off his site, sometimes they have smokstak.com attached to them after you put them on here or ads
