Default Jetstar 3 Industrial Diesel

Getting prepped for another winter project. Picked up this pile of scrap in Sept. Have been tossing around whether to rebuild or part. Has been burnt but have been able to recover enough tag info to make it one of 50 Jetstar Industrial diesels made. Never tackled a burnt unit before. All compartments had oil to level. Oil doesn't smell burnt. Had a melting day and it allowed me to clean and flush. Hoping to have a rolling chassis before real winter hits. Have most parts for build. Missing tin and gauges, wiring etc but same as any other Jetstar 3.
Major differences in industrial to ag. Has no pto or belt pulley, drawbar and T/a. Uses standard front axle,16.9 x 28 rears. This one had a loader so it has 20 gpm Vickers vane pump on rear. Has forward/reverse
shuttle shift not torque. Another Vickers power steering pump mounted in side crankcase cover. Different gauge cluster also. Bonus is I have all diesel components and appear to have survived fire. Have rebuilt the pump and done injector. Hope crank is ok. Bearings look crystalized so will change anyway. Here is some pictures.

Pic off net of what these MM Jets looked like. Flint grey chassis. Gas model. Only Jetstar with electroluminescent dash lighting. Click image for larger version

Considering you aren't going to work it, per se, I would think you can do that as long as the metallurgy is fine. Renewing all bearings is a good start. I always worry about the effects of the fire on machine hardening and bearing shells and races.

Drained rear end along with transmission case. Flushed it all out. No damage that i can see. Oils have no smell. Checked brakes which are in lower casting. They are all good and move freely. Sill paint on belly. Motor will get all new seals and bearings. Also will get new clutch.

Wonder how many of these survived? Of the original fifty I have located 4, one with gas motor transplant. A few were known to be made into paving rollers and some as street sweepers.

Progress on Ind. Now has all new axle seals, brake seals, transmission seals. Up on it's feet with 16.9 x 28 tires.New clutch, throwout and associated parts. Ring gear turned 1/4 turn. All brakes rebuilt and setup. Shuttle shift and tranny went through. Motor going in today with all new seals and bearings. Progress slow as many of parts for Industrial not same as regular Jetstar 3. Have found most parts except tinwork and gauges.

Now have had every bolt out! Rebuilt hydraulic and PS pump. Installed all steering lines. Made return lines for injectors. Made mounts for fuel tank. Had to make return line and inlet to tank, make up filter assembly.Changed throttle linkage and set foot feed linkage. Very time consuming. Radiator should be done this week. Electrical comes next. There is none, no wiring, gauges, starter or alternator/regulator. Looking for M670s,900,1000 wiring and instruments.
