Default LISTER LH150 Hydraulic Reversing Gear on SR2 Engine

hello All ! I've got a canal narrow boat fitted with a Lister SR2 engine and LH150 gearbox . When we bought the boat last year it hadn't moved for about four years , and the gearbox had water intrusion ( possibly through the dipstick which sits low in the bilge. ) and the gearbox was stuck in "forward" , with no neutral or reverse .
I flushed the gearbox and changed the oil , and eventually called in a local marine mechanic , who sorted the problem .
We had a few days out on the boat in May / June , and now the problem has returned ( no neutral or reverse ) - I've topped the lubricant levels correctly and set the "Ahead Adjustment" screw in the gearbox to the recommended spacing , has anyone out there any advice before I phone the mechanic ($$$) again ?
*note - this is a hydraulic gearbox , and works using pressure .

Hello there, I have the instruction book and parts list for the SRM 1,2 &3 cylinder engines by Lister Blackstone Marine Limited. It has full instructions on maintenance and adjustments of the Lister Reversing gear as well as detailed exploded veiws of the gearbox in the parts list section. Send me a private message with your address etc. and I'll send it to you. Warm regards Roland

many thanks for your reply Roland , I have the instruction manual (book number 1029/470 ) types LRM & SRM 1-2-3 cylinders , and I have followed the maintenance / trouble shooting instructions , however - no joy ! I'm going to have one more crack at it today whilst the weather's good then try a local Lister specialist my neighbour has recommended . Again , many thanks ...
