Default wisconsin thd seal

I have a THD that is leaking oil from the pto end. Suspect the seal is going. The book shows a cork seal. Has anyone replaced this with a later style seal with lips or will I have to find a cork seal. Any help would be appreciated

Hi

I believe they are available from Wisconsin. Google the name and have a look at their web site.

On my AK Wisconsin I replaced the cork with some graphited waterpump gland packing, I split the joint at 45 degrees to get a good seal and it has worked fine for 10 years or more! If you can get the proper seal that would be better of course.

Pete.

I like the graphite seal Windrush mentions. Good idea IMO.

I looked at my stuff and don't have one around. Called the local Car Quest store and they don't list it but said they may be able to match by measurement. You might try this at your local Car Quest and/or NAPA.

Local store is used to me looking for old and odd stuff, I've found it helps to take in a dozen donuts from time to time. Seems they kind of like helping me.

Will look it up. Run Engine full speed for an hour a week running a sprayer fan and it thows 2 oz of oil or so-never did before. Will check breather but if seal would like a sure fix. Thanks for the lead
