Question seeking info. about small steam pump

Hello
I have a small, direct acting, simplex pump. It has "Bishop Babcock" printed on it. It was removed from a house that was built in 1916, where it was attached to the basement wall. It seems to be 100% bronze, and had aluminum paint with green pinstripes. The drive end has pump leathers, as does the pilot valve. I think it was for domestic water, or condensate for a boiler, or for watering a garden. Maybe city water was not available then, or needed to be supplimented.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Bill
