Question Patton Brothers Engine Info

I just picked up a 12 hp patton bros. 2 cycle w/ water cooled exhaust, ser # 40, does anyone have any info, build dates, etc.....Thanks , Dave in ark. ps, Virginia sure has some pretty country, great trip

I would guess your engine is 1907 or before if it is a two stroke acorn head. I have a catalog that I'm not sure if its year but I know it is from 1907 or prior for that style of engine.
