Default 5 HP Fairbanks style B governor assembly?

Hey fellows I have a 5 hp fairbanks style B and the gonernor bracket has been demolished. It has a very big cam gear and I haven't counted the teeth yet but wondered if since the 3 hp and 6 hp Z used the same bracket if this none might too. I'm very greatful for any help or info at all on this matter.

Thanks, T.A.

Yes-Everything concerning the cam/gov brac assy. is the same.
Main differences that won't interchange with a 3HP are cyl block, piston, and head. (4 3/4" cyl bore for 5HP). I'm not sure but the rod bearing is different that a 3HP so that changes the diam. on the crankshaft but I think a 3HP rod would work just by changing the bearing size. I also think the main bearings are the same but to lazy to get my part books out or go out back to check this out. Ed

Ed has a good memery. The piston is bigger. The rod journal is bigger but the mains are the same as a 3hp, and the valves are bigger. The governer assembly is the same for the 3, 5 and 6hp engines. The 5 hp is kinda rare. Is yours screen cooled or hopper cooled? Most I have seen are screen cooled.

Thanks so much guys, mine is hopper cooled and is all there except the bracket is in 3 pieces. I just ordered one off flea bay but it has helical or slanted cut gears but all mine are still good I think. Soooo I hope I can just swap everything over.

Hey thanks David, I saw it on there and it was in great shape and I snagged it for 50 bucks so I just got it. If I run into some more stuff I'll sure hit you up though.

Thanks, T.A.

Good price, if it's in good shape.
