Default 10 Hp. Advance Tractor

Hello Everyone

I've posted photos of an early 10 Hp. Advance 1 cylinder tractor on display at the Rough & Tumble Engines and Engineers show going on today and Saturday at theit grounds near Kinzers, Pa. These tractors were sold by Henry, Millard & Henry in York Pa. The engines were built by Geo. Pohl and Co.

Does anyone know of any Advance tractors that have survived?

Enjoy the pictures.

Hi Marc

We didn't build this tractor. Paul Stolzfoos did the work. He started out with an orginal Bull gear off an orginal Friction Drive tractor and a few other parts. Some of our castings were used to complete the job.

Send me a PM sometime about one of our other projects.

Thanks

Hi Leroy,

Sorry I was wrong. So I have to congratulate Paul on this.

Hi Paul,

You're getting a very nice collection of single cylinders.

Marc.

Hello LeRoy,

Thanks for posting those photos. Now that is a rare one.

Does anyone know if there are any 12-25 hp H.M.H. tractors left around?

Looks sort of like a H, M & H tractor advertised in the teens.

It seems that Pohl built very few of these tractors. They had major problems with frames rupturing and broken gears. They were also competing with IHC, who could afford to put a lot of engineering into their designs. This venture, in the 1915 time frame, along with an obsolete engine design and stiff competition from IHC and Fairbanks-Morse, finished the company. I have not heard of any surviving originals. Thanks to Paul for bringing us one to enjoy.
