Default 2012 Diesel Ram Heavy Duty in Case-IH red

I went ahead and did it....I ordered a 2012 in Case-IH red. Not sure if I am going to get that colour since they need 10 trucks minimum to do it; might have to settle for flame red. Now that Fiat owns both companies it make total sense.

The build date for the 2012 Ram has been extended, since in 2013 the Diesel Exhaust Fluid injection will be incorporated.

Anyone out there got a new one in Case-IH red? Would love to see it.

I got this truck purely for leisure and mainly for hauling elderly iron. Can't wait to drop some engines in the bed.

I love this quote below:

"Ram’s heavy-duty share of the heavy-duty segment in 2011 (May 2011) was 27.7 percent. Within the Ram brand, Ram Heavy Duty is 33 percent of overall Ram truck sales. (Source: Polk) The truck segment is still one of the largest segments in the industry, with just more than 1.1 million units sold in 2010. On average, Ram Heavy Duty’s buyer is predominately male (90 percent) and approximately 52 years old. Eighty-one percent are married and earn an average annual income of $99,000. Forty-three percent have graduated from college. (Source: 2010 Strategic Vision NVES). Fifty percent of heavy-duty truck buyers use their trucks for work, and 100 percent use their trucks for fun and leisure."

I've lost track of how many front axle U-Joints and seals that I've changed frequently on my old dodge (1998). Plus a total rebuild of the rear end after it let loose just driving on I-65 with no load @ 130k. Expensive repair but it is now got 225k and runs good and doesnt use oil and still the orig transmission with the occasional filter and fluid change.
Good luck

I must be one of the lucky ones, I've got a pair of them and make more like $9,900 a year! Should be a real nice truck. I painted my Electra-Glide IH red.

I have a Case IH tractor (red) with the Cummings 5.9 engine in it, it's a 1990, 5130 with 9000 hrs on it. no turbo, around 90 hp. The motor has never been touched. I did repaint it around 5 years ago, the paint had all faded out. It's my new tractor. Have 6 more red ones. F20, A, H, 350, 706, 886. One gray one 1924 Fordson

Well I've had her for a few days now and love it! Not Case-IH red but it is flame red that looks closer to Farmall Red.

Here she is with my cornbinder and hauling to winter storage.

They just look "happy" with a trailer attached. Good for you.

Nice looking truck. I built my own in a way. Stuck a 98 Cummins, NV4500 and transfer case into my 92 F350 Crew Cab. Best thing I have ever done. Only wish mine was a dually.

Thanks guys. Next summer shows I'll have a few engines on the bed of the cornbinder as well. Gotta get those Moguls running!

That sure is a nice truck there sir. I am rather partial to my 06 that I ordered just in time to ensure a 5.9 over a 6.7. FYI it is Cummins, not Cummings, Cummings is an author.

Nice rig there John, best of luck with it. I have an "02 24 valve, 6 speed, 2500. Last year for the good ol "noisy" engines. But thats the best part. At idle it sounds like a class 8 Kenworth. You may want to consider a drop hitch for that new truck, the trailer looks like its way off level.

Yessir, I'm in the market for a drop hitch, the truck is a wee bit taller than I thought it would be. Also in the market for a cap, moldings, ram plates, etc....

I wonder how many big shots at Ford wished they had the forethought to do that.

Actually they did but unfortunately only in the bigger trucks. F550 or above I believe but don't quote me on that. I had the 7.3 IDI in my truck but when the trans let loose it was cheaper to graft the 5.9 in than rebuild the trans. ( It would still have had an engine that was non turbo with 170k on it so I really gained little by the trans rebuild.) Amazing how well the Cummins fit into the truck. 3" body lift and the whole assembly was under the hood. Also the shifter came thru the floor about 6" from the Ford. Makes you wonder!
