Default Kenaston Saskatchewan Water Tower

Stopped by Kenaston Saskatchewan the other day to look at the water tower. It’s the oldest remaining locomotive water tower in the province. Sure is nice to see it at its original location.

It's a different shape than I expected. I guess I expected them all to look like they do in the movies!

Here's on at Union station in Wakefield,NH.

The further north you go the colder the winters. I often wondered how they kept the tank from freezing solid in the super cold. Now I know.

A bit of Kenaston trivia. The town was named after F.E Kenaston, head of the Minneapolis Thresher Co and Northwest thresher co.He was part of the Saskatchewan Valley Land Development group that bought a large tract of land in the province and promoted its sale to new settlers. I wonder how many Minneapolis machines ended up in that area? https://www.kenaston.ca/pages/history.htm
