Default Unknown Air Cooled Engine - HELP?

Does anybody know what this engine is??? I would appreciate any advice, Thanks Tom

I beleive that It's a Howard engine from the Chicago area. Check out this link for more information. I beleive that Your air cooled was also made as a tank cooled model also, if you look at the following post, you can see the embossed area on the side of the block, where the carb is mounted on the block.Where as yours is mounted to the head because its air cooled. JK is good at finding out info on unusual engines.
