Talk to these folks.

Cost will depend if your existing carburetor is
already set up for dry fuel.

Drill a hole in the carb and a $50 demand regulator, now you have a trifuel.... done..

I guess I'll revive this old thread, since I have pretty much the same question.

The set is a 7.5JB FL sn I930519818 Spec 16581D, gasoline only, as far as I know. (One of the Toldeo sets.)

I understand about fuel controllers (garretson KN?) But does anyone have a picture of the carb modification needed? (I don't need "tri fuel" - just natural gas.)

I have done several converssions to gasoline carbs and they work Fine. I have bought some demand Regulators on ebay. and only have to install a Ball Valve between the regulator and carb to adjust the Fuel. The ball valve acts like the "Main Jet" in Gasoline carbs. See photos of a Carb that I just Converted.

I have also done several. I strive to NOT destroy the carbs ability to still be usable with gasoline. Search for my post and you will find pictures.
P.S. When you make a conversion to either LP or NG while not destroying the carbs ability to use gasoline you have a Tri-Fuel system.

With that set up, i get 6.5+ kw on gasoline, and about 6kw on natural gas, i know your working on a jb, but id say you should be even better off..

Bobby, I am curious about your drilled carb. It appears to be the same basic carb I have on my 6.5 NH, mine is the factory natural gas setup. The factory uses the long horizontal boss to bring in the gas. On your third photo it has a bright white something sticking out of the place the gas would be brought in, just wondered what it was.

Looks to me like a white nylon 90 degree fuel line fitting that has been used on small engine fuel systems for decades.
A POINT on Teflon tape, ALWAYS! start your tape ONE THREAD back from the end of the fitting to prevent pieces of tape entering the flow stream of what ever the fitting is carrying. Years ago HOT ROD Mag. gave T tape a bad name because a NAME racer had to shut his car down at the starting line because of a flooding carb. The cause of the flooding carb was a piece of T tape under a float needle.
I also know one Hydraulic parts supplier that IF they find out that T tape was used to assemble a system they WILL void the warranty on their parts. They are OK with Teflon paste. You can use T tape IF as I said above to NOT cover the first thread of the pipe thread fitting.
The then-now company I have been posting that build fuel pump kits for for older equipment also does not like ANY Teflon sealant because they claim it will cause one to screw the fitting in OLD pump body to far causing the irreplaceable pump bodies to be destroyed from the fitting boss cracking.
T tape and RTV gasket make share ONE thing: More is not necessarily better. Use either intelligently and you will NOT have a problem.

Kent
