Default White streaks all down my black enclosed trailer

This looks like heck it runs off roof all chalky white streaks . It's a 7 year old trailer I bought used like new but some will some what wash off is there anything i can paint in roof like aluminum paint used on motor homes. Anyone else have this problem. I'm an over the road truck driver and every trailer I see doesn't have these streaks. like someone washed roof before I owned it. and caused it to do this now.

I also just bought a 2005 6 X10 cargo trailer. There are faint white streaks from some decals. Also the black paint is dull and rough and can mark it by rubbing my hand across it. I don't remember seeing that happen on other trailers . I guess the paint is going bad?? Ron

Paint will oxidise (oxydize) with exposure to the weather, sun and rain in particular, as will many metals like aluminium (aluminum)

What you can try is to give the paint a good wash and then try using a hard wax polish on it to seal the surface.

May paints and powder coat finishes are affected this way, some more than others.

I went to Yahoo and there's many suggestions to removing these streaks but most of the cleaners sold for motor homes that are fiberglass and or plastic are not painted aluminum like these trailers. We have over 200 trailers at the trucking company i work for and we use a acid solutions to clean our trailers but it didn't touch these streaks.Waxing does take some of it off heck of a lots of work.

I got sick of looking at the streaks on my little box trailer and I washed it with a little Comet on a sponge and a bucket of water with a lot of dish soap. It got rid of the streaks, but I had to watch and not scrub too hard or it would go down to the green primer. After a wax job and painting the fenders and steel items black, it didn't look too bad for being nearly 20 years old.
