Default John Deere 3 hp E

My engine is in good shape paint wise, but want to remove all of the old oil and grease that has accumulated over the years wth out removing the paint. understand it is worth more this way rather than a repaint. Any ideas?
Bill

Use plain ol' kerosene and pieces of old terrycloth towel. Rub vigorously with elbow grease.

Once everything's clean, apply a coating of Penetrol.

My 2˘ worth.
