If anyone hears where the Heider went, I'd appreciate knowing where it ended up. Some more pictures. The Peoria Drill came home with us.

There did seem like some deals at the sale. For example, a Huber OB orchard style tractor, although a parts tractor, brought $400. There was only 13 made! A standard Huber B mostly complete wasn't stuck brought $200, and that tractor had original Sears All-state tires that should've went more than that themselves! The Rock Island tractor that went nearly $27,500 was actually a Canadian Special, so it was a little more rare. The Huber Stationary Steam Engine only brought $10,000.

Paul, what is the significance of the Rock Island, picture #3 in post #22?
Is that the Canadian Special you speak of? I am curious because that tractor appears to have a Waterloo Mfg. tag on he hood.

Jeff, picture 1 is the Canadian Special F. Picture 3 is the Model G. It does have the waterloo tag on it. It was an early one built mid 1927 and was the second of the gear drive models (the F was first). It used the headless Waukesha from the Heiders in it. It was replaced by the G2 in 1929. This one was pretty tough, the engine was stuck and there was a big patch over the governor housing. It had the new hood on it, the old one was damaged in the tornado, but the new owner had bought the original hood the day before.

Oddly enough, none of the Canadian specials I have details on, appear to have come from/through Canada. Dicks Canadian Special was a local tractor as far back as its known.
