Default John Deere LUC, Number on spark plug?

Bought an old LUC power unit without a mag, found a NOS mag and have some new spark plug wires but which is the number one spark plug on the engine and on the mag?

Your help is greatly appreciated,

have a luc, same as la motor, the bottom wire from mag goes to the rear cylinder top to front, I,ll check it tomorrow to make sure.....

o.k.....I got it backwards...lower outer port on mag goes to front cylinder and inner higher port goes to rear cylinder......the timing cover is rear of mag and has a timing mark, message me if you need more infro on engine I have specs...

Okay, I got this figured out, the outside lug on the mag goes to the front number one cylinder, the inside lug on the mag goes to the rear number 2 cylinder.
