Default Air compressor, modification

I have a surplus compressor that is a V2 cyl. with 3 and 4 stages on top of 1 and 2 cyl's.. It is 15 cfm, and red lined at 4000 psi. It was powered with a V4 Wisc. and I repowered with a Wisc.2 cyl. TFD because the 4 had 2 bad pistons.

Question is, can I disconnect 3 and 4 stage and get more cfm and less pressure? The TFD will pump over 2000 as is,but I only want about 150 and more cfm. It also has an after cooler and filters for purifying the pressurized air. Thank you for any response, Arthur

I use compressors like that and would be interested in buying another as long as they pump 4000 psi any ideas?

What is a compressor like that used for? The only thing that comes to my mind would be filling scuba tanks.
Just curious (& nosey)....
