Default Hendey Lathe Question

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how the spindle bearings come apart on a Hendey Machine Co. Lathe made in Torrington, CT? I just got one in & the spindle is stuck, everything else on it looks nice though. The brass end caps both unscrew but not sure how else everything comes out?

Thanks!

I have a lathe just like the one you have. I have alway wondered how it was made, but had to reason to take it apart. Could you post some pictures when you get it apart? Thanks

The spindle journals are tapered. End thrust is taken on the face of the front bearing and adjusted at the back bearing by collers. If spindle is stuck, back
off this collar and bump with soft hammer. Spindle is removed by removing
collar left of the rear bearing and the collar left of the cone pulley. Slide
spindle towards tailstock. Good Luck! Bill Waters....
