Default Robinson Hay Press

The Rosholt Area Threshermen,Rosholt, Wisconsin, acquired this one-of-a-kind (SO FAR) Robinson haypress several years ago. It was in pretty sad shape as a tree had fallen on it and smashed the bandwheel (pulley) all to hell as well a bunch of other castings. It was a tremendous effort to bring this thing back but it sure was worth it! The vertical, bevel gear driven, crankshaft can be run in either direction and the only limitation as to how many bales this thing can push through is how fast the bales can be wired. No twine around this baby---it just breaks---and it's set as loosely as possible. A Robinson Press like this is illustrated in Wendell's Green Encyclopedia of American Farm Tractors in the back. Has ANYONE ever seen another like it???? I contacted the Historical Society of Richmond County in Indiana where it was built but they had information only for the later design. IS IT A ONE OF??
