Does the #22 have the same mounting spacing as the #12 ?

Yes, both mags have the same bolt spacing. What engine are you working on? Sounds like a Fairbanks Morse 3 or 6 hp igniter engine. I have a Sumter # 22 on my 3hp, and a Sumter # 25 on my 6 hp engine.

Hi Glen, I just realized I talked to you earlier about Sumters. How are you coming along with it?

Chuck , I'm just trying to bring some dead mags back to life . For health reasons I can't work anymore , so I thought I would give it a try to keep myself from going goofy- er . I am learning a lot , some of what to do and some of what not to do . Thanks for the information . I am going to make a base plate for the #22 . I have made some for the #12 .

Glen,
I have swaped mags on my engines and the bases are different to compensate for the magnet size and so on. but the bases seem to fit nicely. In other words I took a # 12 off my 3 hp and put on a # 22 from my 6 hp and put a # 25 on the 6 hp. So I got a spare # 12 for a headless. I don't have a headless but I got the mag. My engines seem to run just fine. Keep in mind all the mag gears are different. That is the key right there. Anyway great to have you on board. We need mag builders in the hobby.
