Photo Exhaust Opinion

I have a 6hp Appleton that I am waiting for some castings to remake the can muffler. It had a stack on it when I purchased it. Since I am taking it to a show this weekend, I decided to put a different stack on it and compare the two....The link is a video of it with both stacks. The change occurs ~37 seconds in. File is ~1.5 mb in size.

Which would you perfer to hear....The 105mm shell or the 1 1/2" pipe????

Steve,
I like the 1 1/2 inch pipe. Sounds more original to me. For what it is worth. Tom

Steve,

I've stared and studied and listened to (with the pipe) that engine run quite a few times. I think I even drooled (sp?) the first couple times. Make it sound how you want. I can't tell the difference.

she sounds great in both applications, but I think I lean a little more to the plain pipe. It gives her a little more bark.

I like the plain straight pipe for what it's worth.

Originality is good but the other one gives it a shallow sound. The straight pipe is much deeper.

Hey Steve, try turning the brass pipe around small end up big end down. A little back pressure should tame it down a little. Someone has always got another idea.
