Does it have the orginol battery/coil box on the side of hopper? Any small 6 or 12v battery will work. Bob

Is there a certain way to time the engine ect, also which way does the flywheels need to turn in order to run???? Do I pull the flywheel backwards or push foreward to run??? Sorry for the stupid question, I'm new to this and need all the help I can get!!!!! To answer your question bob, yes it has the original battery box with original coil, currently I'm running it on a basic 6v battery!!!! Again any info will be appreciated

You need to pull the flywheels backwards, (pull the top away from the hopper), and try to get the spark right at top dead center for starters so it won't kick back if you pull it thru quickly.
Good Luck, Bud

No it shouldn't buzz all the time. Have you got the wire from the switch going to the timer that is on the push rod by the governor? Bob

Yes I do, I might have something going on at the switch by the governor, how does that switch right there at the governor actually tell the buzz coil to activate??? Thanks for the help bob!

DrewellLX9,

This is how it was explained to me by David Lyons.
"The 'push rod lifter' as you have named it, travels backwards with a dimple on the camshaft and grounds the buzz coil when it touches the metal plate on the timer...There has to be a good path for the current to flow. So, if any paint or rust is interfering get rid of it. an easy test is to hook up your buzz coil, roll the engine over, and see if it will buzz.
The metal plate should be insulated from the engine block so that it doesn't ground out the coil until the push rod reaches it" You adjust the timing by adding or subtracting spacers. Available at www.hitnmiss.com

It was confusing to me as well.
