Default Looking for a power hammer

I'm looking for a small (25# to 100#) power hammer, a Little Giant or one with the Dupont style mechanisim would be my first choice but would consider others. I live in south eastern Ohio and would hope to stay within 300 miles or so.

if you have something close to what i'm looking for please call Rich at 740 856 8477 or email at r_i_c_h_k_i_n_g@yahoo.com

Thanks..........

Suggest you go haunt anvilfire.com. Power hammers for sale and discussions on power hammers are much more common there than here. There have been some informative threads about the rehab these pieces need before use.

David Hughes, whose power hammer is "Armstrong", about a 2 1/2#

More suggestions,
.iforgeiron.com
craigslist
ebay
I just got a 30# kerrihard off of ebay back in december, for a reasonable price. It does take a lot of patience though

I'm not a member of SOFA and have never been to the Quadestate(yet)
but from what I understand its one of the very best places to find any blacksmith tool you might need

*that should have been "Quadstate"

If you go to you tube and put in homemade power hammer it will give you a number of vids on building one. If you are a serious blacksmith I'm sure you could build something that goes bang bang bang

Unless you are just using your hammer for drawing out steel I would go with a 100 Lb. hammer. This size hammer runs slower & has larger dies making it easier to use tooling.
