Default 1908 IHC Tom Thumb ignition?

Hello, I'm at work on my 1908 Tom Thumb engine and I have a question about the ignition timer for the buzz coil on my engine. I am enclosing a picture of what my engine has for the timer which is simply a piece of spring steel attached to the push rod which makes contact with a tab sticking out of the Cam gear, and then the ground is apparently attached to the little screw which I have a picture of as well.
The question I have is; is this the correct timer for my year of engine? I know that I've seen pics of later dated engines having a timing advance and that Don Oberholtzer sells these parts. So basically it comes down to, will my engine be functional, or do I need to purchase these parts? Thanks in advance, John

Hi, This is timing off my little IHC. Is this the wipe timer you refer to? Often wondered if mine was original. No serial No on mine, but bronze con rod, detent arm, rocker and push rod so I think it's 1911/12? -Cheers,

Well It seems like every picture of a Tom Thumb's timer seems to be slightly different. I'm posting some pics here for Thomas Cwach, of his Tom Thumb's timer.
