Default Wauseon 2006 show

The Wauseon steam show was great!

The first day was a little damp but . . . all in all still wasn't bad
I got to meet alot of fellow smok staker's as well

So let get to Friday
All was good for Most of the engine's and enginer's but ALL

Josh can hear to this ????
Even if we could not get hooked to CASE engine
Friday nite Josh was asked to do a spark show with the little Reeves 1665 and with a little help from Roland and the suport of a few fellow smok stacker's he did a great job!!!!!!!!!
I will send a few picture of the weekend once i get them up loaded i will post them

Thanks to all the smok stacker's that were at the dinner and to meet you all even if I was the ONLY CANADIAN there ( Thanks Colin )
Cheers
Tim

Thank you TIM!!

And to all of the fellow smokstakers and to all NTA, I had a total BLAST!!!! I can not wait until next year to do it all again, although I think I am coming back out to Five Point with the little girl in a couple of weeks........

Beth -

Thanks for putting up with us eastern guys, I know my stomach is still hurting from all of the laughing and stories that were told, ESPECIALLY:

Quote:
" I think that 198 HP out of Colins 10 (I mean 110) is a line of BULLS$%T"
Thank you KEVIN SMALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were altleast a dozen witnesses by the way if you try to renig........

The phone call to Colin that night was priceless, along with some of the shots that is posting.......

Getting pulled around with that "CUTE" Russell - well I would not have changed that at all, I was trying to load that on the trailer to bring along home, but kept getting told no and that it is not cute, it's "BULLISH"
Getting pulled by the half Keck that something was in the water was a heck of a crowd eye opener especiall with the 32 hooked on the back of the 16....

Make sure you check out some of the Case "getting beat up" pictures to come......hehehehe

Josh

Wow! What a show this year. Sixty steamers and something moving ALL the time. And I mean ALL the time. As a lurker (and KRs dad) here, I was glad to have met so many of you at the dinner Saturday evening. Next year my pork ribs will be
there. Cooked in a 20 Advance or Reeves. I think they might spoil if cooked in a 110 Case. Just not hot enough! Till the next show!

That was the great question of the show....

To where in the show grounds was there no mud..........

TONS OF FUN TO ALL NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER:
A bad day at a steam show is better than a good day at work........

Thank you for the help Friday night for the spark show!!!! I promise I will get as copy of those Sawyer books to you!! IF you are coming down to Five Points I think that I will be there if things go right.....

Josh

I couldn't pass up video taping the Kittens on the Belt. The engines were #176, #197 owned by the Lindauer's, #216 owned by Billy Kennedy and #220 owned by The New Family. You don't see that very often. I wish we could have had ours on there too. But I did enjoy taking our Kitten # 191 to the show and did get it in the photo with the other Kittens along with the little 1/2 scale Kitten, the Kitten Separator and water wagon. Thanks Andy, great photo shoot. Thanks Craig for posting the video.

Tom

Thought I would share some more pictures for those who were unable to attend.

The first being one of those engines that you need a third arm coming out of the top of you head to run the throttle.
The second is the beautifully restored Keck Gonnerman previously mentioned
The third is Jonas Stutzman's 1923 20 HP Advance Rumely pulling the sled.
And finally the fourth is the New Family's Kitten threshing rig.

Enjoy, KR

Great pictures Tim!

The little Reeves did well.....after we reminded him to take the spark arrester off!

The big Reeves had its lights on in honor of Dad. He'd have enjoyed the show...especially with the baby next to it!

Thanks!
Beth

Great pics. I hav3e a big favor to ask of my fellow Stackers. When you can please identify the engines a people in you pictures. It allows us to put a face with a name. Identifying the engines also helps me learn more about the engines that I come here to learn about.

Here are a couple pics from the show last weekend.

The first is a line-up of engines on the baker fans and the prony brake. From left to right - Jim Lashaway's 16 hp Russell, ???'s ???, Drew Lashaway's 12 hp Frick, Richard Schniepp / Phil Zuver's 32 hp Port Huron, Scott Holp's 20 hp Advance.

The second picture is of our good friend Lawrence "Gaar Scott" Swanz operating Vic Johnson's 22 hp Garr Scott Double on the prony brake. The engine developed 101 hp on the brake and made great stack music. The smokebox had the turkey and the ham in it for the Staker dinner later that night. We were a little concerned when we saw pieces of burning tin foil shooting out of the stack during the test. Fortunately there was enough foil wrapped around the roasts to protect them.

What a lucky dawg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, you know the definition of a "true friend" doesn't include someone calling you when you're at work to let you know they're at a show looking over a 22 HP G/S engine................

Just giving you a hard time, Lawrence!
Mike
