Default Rough & Tumble Kinzer's Pa. 2007

Hi All . . .

I made the trip down with my wife to the show again! 8 + hours
They had a good turn out ( even with the Rain Storm) and GREAT STEAM ENGINE GAMES with the engine write up to the spark show on the pulling track!

Would like too go back in the spring steam up too!

Will up load pictures in the next little while . . .

Tim

It was a great show, and it wouldnt be Rough and Tumble without a little rain and lightning. Josh had his engine on the track. WOW!! He made a full pull and did a spark show also. His engine reminded of POPEYE the Sailor because it was strong like Popeye and I think he fed it spinach just before the pull. Cant wait till next year. I hope Kinzers Fire hall reopens the food hall by next year. I really missed that part of the show.

Jeff,

One heck of a spark show and did not pull any flues this time either!!!!

Front end was bobbing a little, but nothing bad, just enough!

Hope you had fun firing the Goodison over the weekend and running the Reeves Saturday before you left.

It was good to put more peoples' names with faces!

Timmy,

I found those parts I was telling you about, I will get some pics and a serial number for you.

Josh

Josh, great job on the spark show. I've never seen a cross compound worked that hard and I was under the impression that they didn't make much stack music, but boy she sounded good.... and then I guess you hit the interceptor? WOW, what a show. It almost looked like it sucked the whole fire out, big hunks of burning stuff raining down on fire!! I had to scramble to get my camera back out. I got some good pics too that I'll try to post later. I think my dad got some video but it's a little dark.

The steam tractor pull was an unexpected treat. I've never seen the smaller engines pull that hard and they did a good job working the sled to make an impressive demonstration.

Craig here: Brad.....when you get that video downloaded give me a shot at it....I can fix that sort of stuff.......

Brad,

Yeah, about 3/4 way down I hit the "magic stick" as everyone here calls it. I know all the sled people jumped off as some clothes and hair were on fire......

I wasn't about to peak out, all I know was the sky was lit up!

Josh

Here are two pictures from the spark show Friday night. If I were a better photographer I probably would have tried to have the camera on a better tripod and pan it with the moving engine, that should keep the engine in focus, but the background would be blurred and the sparks would still leave trails. (something to try next year!)

Here's Josh's engine, just before everyone had to bail off the sled!

And here is the Keck (Beautiful Noise) putting on an excellent show as well.

My father took a couple videos, but they're too dark to tell which engine is which. I can tell which is the Keck because there's almost as much sparks coming out of the smokebox door as the stack! I've got a couple videos of the Fricks in more light, but the sparks aren't as bright.

It appears to be pouring in the photo of the cement mixer. That rain came down in buckets for more than a half hour. Nice photos Tim.

Hey Timmy it was great to see you there I would post some pics but I didn't have any time and my camera didn't show up until friday night
I know I was wore out by Saturday and I gave the "Q" a good work out between threshing, the spark show, supplying steam for the well driller, and pulling AND not a tube pulled JOSH unlike a little Reeves which has a shade of paint that looks REAL close to Waste Management maroon LOL.
