I want to thank every one of you for their help.
This is not my thing at all. This has all been driven by my 10 year old Son Spenser. He started researching the hobby three years ago and has been cutting lawns to support his new hobby since 2006. He picked up his first engine in July 2009. I’m an electrician by trade. I have always been a top off the oil guy and turn the key. Have a lot to learn.
We met Doug at the Eliot show in July. Doug has been an unbelievable help through the whole possess. He has the patients of a saint. As for me I am warming up to the hobby and even see an engine for Dad in the future.

Thanks again everyone.
Doug’ Thanks for your time and the use of your shop last night. We would not be this far without your help.

Dave,
Welcome to the Stak and the hobby to you and Spenser. This hobby is alot of fun and you both will learn alot just being around it. You have a great start already and have found a great mentor in Doug. Doug is good people and has helped me out as well and I am very grateful. Good luck with your engines!

Steve

Dave
Hope it all works for you!! let us know how it goes, Doug and I were talking Sunday at Dublin, told me he'd found the parts engine after you had left the show. Hope to see you, your son and your engine[s] at one of the New England shows.
Peter

Up and running! We messed with the timing and we have the firing down to one hit. “Most Times” It would typically hit two or three times. Doug was a big help. He sent over some detailed instructions and we went for it. You should have seen the look on my sons face when it took off running one hit at a time. Never thought I would like tinkering around with old engines. But I’m having a blast!!

Thanks Guy’s

Yeah, you are hooked now. There is no known cure for this, except to get more engines.

Welcome to the hobby!

They exhibited Spenser's dishpan at his first show at the Trolley Museum in Arundel, Maine today. They had it running very well.
