Default Briggs and stratton model BP

I got this briggs at an auction, I can't find anyting listed as model BP, type # 300504, ser # 103775. It has a crank start, slab head, mec fuel pump, the air shroud is all cast iron. Its got a longer crank shaft, and was a kohler generator, that tag says, kohler mod 800 M21, 800 watts, 110- AC, 1800 rpm's, 60 cycle, with a ser # of 99437. Does anybody have any info on this engine?

That's a Model B. The P indicates direct mounting to the crankcase, ie how the generator mounted to the engine.

According to this website http://www.oldengine.org/members/murphy/model_b.htm
yours was made in 1944. Can also date by the Kohler serial number, but I don't have that list in front of me.

It is too bad that the generator is missing, they are great little sets. Here's mine:

And here's mine running some bulbs and a fridge during a power failure:

And no, I was NOT the one who painted it in those carnival colors!!!

Thanks vanman for the info, a few things are missing, like the carb and fuel pump, it turns over, and what supprises me is the starting mec is as solid as new, no slack in the crank bushing at all, and no cracks or welds on the air shroud.

Vanman is correct. It is a model B Briggs & Stratton. I have the same setup as both of you. Vanman and I have talked about this engine / generator setup before. I have too busy to take the time to run mine.
